Our Story

Tonisha Ngozi, Head Chandler and Founder has always had a deeply rooted obsession with hand-made products due to her father’s influence. He is quite the nomad. On his visits to Jamaica, he would never be short of organic soaps, beeswax candles and honey sticks. These items weren’t being produced in Jamaica in abundance during those times but even as a little girl, they acted as a balm for her spirit. This was the inspiration behind creating Ngozi Sweet Blessings. 

The name Ngozi is of African origin meaning sweet blessings or being a blessing. All products are handmade in our chandlery in St. Andrew, Jamaica with many ingredients being sourced locally.  

Since being in business, Tonisha has been impacted by the stories shared by supporters, many of whom have dealt with grief in their own way, whether it may have been through the loss of someone or just the transitions of life. These were all people who needed to find solace, hope, peace & contentment and were comforted through the products created. It has been satisfying to know that people have been influenced below the surface of what the items present. 

Ngozi Sweet Blessings prides itself on intentional self care with the creation of body care products and soy candles. All products are vegan and we only use natural oils, butters, essential oils from nature for our soaps and body care products. The fragrances used in our candles are all phthalate free and we utilise packaging that is sustainable.
